Zhong Lun Attended the IBA Seoul Conference and Successfully Held a Reception
The International Bar Association (IBA) held its 2019 Annual Conference in Seoul from September 22 to 27, 2019. More than 6000 delegates from all over the world attended this conference. As an IBA Group Member, Zhong Lun Law Firm sent over 20 Partners and lawyers to attend the conference.
During the Conference, Zhong Lun partner Lijun Cao, Gary Gao, Audry Li, Yun Zhou and Carol Zhu were invited by various IBA committees to speak on the topics regarding “The investment arbitration year in review: awards and the upheaval in treaty protection", “A transnational approach: the practical use of UNIDROIT principles for international commercial contracts", “Joint ventures in the current market" “Private Equity Hot Topics" and “Asian Value and Legal System". Partner Peter Ni and Non-equity Partner Mark Gao participated in the round table discussion on the topic “Global Trends - developments in China".
On September 23rd, Zhong Lun successfully held a cocktail reception which was warmly received by the lawyers from all over the world. More than 600 lawyers including IBA leaders attended the event. Zhong Lun lawyers exchanged ideas and had warm discussions with the participants in relation to the hot legal topics and cooperation with each other, which has greatly enriched the friendship with each other.
Through participation of this conference, Zhong Lun not only fully demonstrated its profession and had the Chinese lawyers’ voice heard at the international stage, but also helped the global lawyers understand better the Chinese legal market and China’s “Belt and Road" initiative. This has further enhanced the influence of Chinese lawyers and Zhong Lun brand in the international legal community.
